What seems like just a few years ago, they were playing dress-up in Mommy's closet, with my high heels and fancy dresses... now they are actually wearing those high heels & fancy dresses!
I made the two dresses they are wearing here, because, that's what Seamstresses do... sew for their kids! Only now, my kids are no longer 'kids', they are almost grown women!
In this picture, I had just made both of the girls a white eyelet top and blue jean skorts. Then, I made these pretty, white, stretch lace dresses.
With plans to meet Grandma Ross for Brunch (just the Girls), Becky chose to wear the skort set, while Emma chose to wear the little white stretch lace dress.
They usually preferred the things Mommy made for them, because they were more comfortable than the clothes we'd bought in the store, and the clothing Mommy made for them always seemed to fit them just right!
Very often, the girls wanted me to make them the same thing, so I would make 2 of whatever I was making.
I always purchased enough fabric to make certain I had enough to make both girls something out of that particular fabric, although the outfits were not always the same ... In this case, they were the same! The girls literally lived in these little dresses because in Arizona, when it's hot, the less clothing a person has to wear, the better.

This was one occasion that the girls and I decided that we were going to out shopping to 'buy' our "Easter Best" outfits, right from the frilly white socks to their beautiful straw hats.
The girls each picked out an outfit for themselves, from sox and shoes to hat, and we all went off to Church with Gramma Ross for Easter Sunday, dressed to the 9's!
It made them feel special to be able to buy their new outfits, and these two actually got quite a bit of use, even though Mommy didn't make these.
Well, it is quite late and I must go to sleep! I will share more of my daughter's favourite clothing that I'd made for them over the years.
